Dr. Alon Pnini
Alon Pnini, M.D., is a pioneer of retrodermal curettage as a treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating). He was among the first surgeons to perform a large number of this procedure, and to date has done almost a thousand cases. In his hands, the retrodermal curettage procedure boasts over a 90% success rate. Though there are other practitioners of retrodermal curettage in the state, some may perform the procedure on only a sporadic basis and Dr. Pnini has seen multiple patients in need of a revision after going to a surgeon with less experience in this particular technique. In Israel, surgeons performing the procedure refer to it as the “Pnini technique.”
Dr. Pnini is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has been in medical practice since 1984. Dr. Pnini is a graduate of the prestigious Hadassa Medical School of the Hebrew University in Israel, which he graduated from in 1972. His surgical residency was completed at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, N.Y. and his plastic surgical residency at Rambam Hospital in Haifa Israel, and at Baylor College of Medicine, Plastic Surgery Division, in Houston Texas.
